First Impressions Close Deals
On any marketplace, buyers browse visually. They scroll through dozens of products, and your preview images have about 2 seconds to grab attention. Make them count.
Rule #1: Show the Product, Not Just the UI
Don't just screenshot your app. Place it in context — a phone mockup, a laptop frame, or a lifestyle scene. Tools like Mockup World, Artboard Studio, and Figma mockup kits make this easy.
Rule #2: Highlight Key Features
Each screenshot should showcase one feature or benefit. Dashboard view, mobile responsiveness, dark mode, payment flow — give each its own slide with a short caption.
Rule #3: Use Consistent Branding
Pick a color scheme and stick with it across all screenshots. Use the same fonts, gradients, and layout style. Consistency signals professionalism and attention to detail.
Rule #4: Optimize for Thumbnails
Your images will often be viewed as small thumbnails. Make sure key elements are visible even at 200x150 pixels. Avoid tiny text that becomes unreadable when scaled down.
Rule #5: Show Real Data
Nothing kills credibility faster than "Lorem ipsum" in your screenshots. Use realistic sample data — real names, plausible numbers, actual product images.
Tools We Recommend
Figma (free) for creating mockup compositions. Screely for quick browser mockups. Device Frames for phone/tablet mockups. Cleanshot X for polished Mac screenshots.
The Magic Number
Upload 5-8 screenshots minimum. Cover the most important pages, mobile views, and any unique features. More quality screenshots = higher conversion rates.
